In the first week of December 2022, up to ten smartphones from brands such as Realme, iQOO, Samsung, Tecno and OPPO were launched. The week started with Tecno unveiling its Phantom X2 series and ended with Samsung taking the wraps off its Galaxy M04. Realme 10 Pro series, iQOO 11 lineup and Tecno Pova 4 also arrived mid-week. Here's a quick rundown of all the major smartphones launched this week, both globally and in India.
iQOO 11 series, iQOO Neo 7 SE
The iQOO 11 and iQOO Neo 7 SE series were announced in China this week and are expected to come to India in early 2023. The phones start at around Rs 24,800.
iQOO 11: The device has a triple rear camera: 50MP primary, 13MP ultra-wide and 8MP macro. On the front, you get a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calls. It features a 6.78-inch FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED panel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging, and up to 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage.
iQOO 11 Pro: The iQOO 11 Pro comes with a similar specification apart from a few tweaks here and there. You get a QHD+ display, 200W fast charging support and a better triple rear camera setup: 50MP primary, 50MP ultra-wide and 13MP portrait.
iQOO Neo 7 SE: Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, the iQOO Neo 7 SE comes with a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel. A 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support runs the show. The camera configuration includes a 16MP selfie camera and a triple rear camera setup: 64MP primary, 2MP portrait and 2MP macro.
Tecno Phantom X2 series
The Tecno Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro were announced in Dubai this week. The company has confirmed that the former will launch in India later this month, while the Phantom X2 Pro will arrive early next year.
Tecno Phantom X2 phones offer a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED panel. The device is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G SoC paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Both phones have a 5160mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
Photography on the Tecno Phantom X2 is handled by a triple camera: 64MP, 13MP and 2MP. On the other hand, the X2 Pro has a triple camera setup of 50MP, 50MP and 13MP. Both phones have a 32MP front camera.
Realme 10 Pro series
The Realme 10 Pro has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 18,999 and will go on sale from December 16. The Realme 10 Pro+ starts at Rs 24,999 and will be available on December 14 via Flipkart, realme.com and offline stores.
Realme 10 Pro: The phone sports a 6.72-inch FHD+ 120Hz LCD panel, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support keeps the lights on. It has a 16MP front camera and a dual rear camera: 108MP primary and 2MP portrait.
Realme 10 Pro+: It has a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED curved display, fueled by a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. The performance is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Aside from the extra 8MP ultra-wide lens, the Realme 10 Pro+ has a camera setup similar to that of the 10 Pro.
Samsung Galaxy M04
Samsung Galaxy M04 has landed in India with an affordable price of Rs 8,499. On the front is a 6.58-inch HD+ display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. A 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support keeps the lights on, and the show is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a dual rear camera setup: 13MP primary and 2MP secondary. There is a 5MP snapper on the front for selfie and video calling needs.
